WARRANTY GUIDELINES
1. Warranty Length.
Most products have a (90) day warranty starting from the date of purchase if item is declared defective. There are no returns. All jobs are custom. Wires, connectors, plugs, fuses, light bulbs, projector bulbs, hard drives, speakers are not included in any warranty. This warranty excludes service charges, labor charges, and shipping costs. Customer must pay for all shipping costs.
2. Abuse & Misuse.
Defects or damage that result from: (a) improper operation, vandalism, storage, misuse or abuse, accident or neglect, such as physical damage (cracks, scratches, etc.) to the surface of the product resulting from misuse; (b) contact with liquid, water, rain, earthquakes, wind, extreme humidity or sand, dirt or the like, extreme heat, or food; (c) use of the Products for commercial purposes or subjecting the Product to abnormal usage or conditions; or (d) other acts which are not the fault of American Custom Security, are excluded from warranty coverage which include damage due to power issues like power surges, spikes, etc. It is the customer’s responsibility to have proper working electrical power. All electrical matters must be worked with a licensed electrician.
3. Normal Wear & Tear.
Periodic maintenance, repair and replacement of parts due to normal wear and tear are excluded from coverage. (Warranty on plasmas and LCD screens does not cover panel damage caused images displayed for long periods of time also referred to as burn-in.)
4. Unauthorized Service or Modification.
Defects or damages resulting from service, testing, adjustment, relocating, re-installation, maintenance, alteration, including without limitation, software changes, or modification in any way by someone other than American Custom Security, or its authorized service installers, are excluded from coverage.
5. Service Fee.
Service fees will be charged for problem assessment, upgrading, retraining, emergency calls, service, testing, adjustment, relocating, re-installation, and maintenance. Any calls requiring traveling to the location where initial installation was completed, will be charged a service charge. Service charge is separate from product warranty. Service fee does not include parts and labor. Service fee does not include price of replacement parts and replacement equipment. If a product cannot be fixed at the location, the product will be sent back to the manufacturer. The manufacturer might require additional repairs and additional costs and will be applied to the service invoice. Products will not be sent back to manufacturer until all the shipping and the separate service fee is paid in full. Shipping is not covered by the 90-day manufacturer warranty. Service fees and business hours are stated in the invoice and may vary.
6. Networking & Internet.
IP software and remote viewing is not warranted. American Custom Security has no control over your network provider. Therefore, service charges to restore your IP remote viewing software will be applied at the normal service rate as stated in the invoice. DVR's require static IP addresses that are provided by your internet provider. Statice IP addresses may require additional charges from the internet provider.
7. Training & Product Manuals.
All customers will receive training after installation is complete. First half hour of training is free on the same day as install. If customer requires more training after first half hour, regular service charges will be applied. All customers will receive product manuals for their products purchased. Customers should take the time to read over the manuals. Any questions or any retraining after the date of initial installation (whether in person, over the phone, or email) will be charged a service fee at the normal rate as stated above (5. Service Fee).
8. Repaired Products.
Any open balances or bills must be paid in full to receive your repaired product. This includes balances from service fees, shipping, parts and labor. Repaired products will not be returned until balances and fees have been paid.
9. Third Party Products.
Products purchased from anywhere else other than from American Custom Security are not covered in the warranty. If products from American Custom Security are tied in with third party products purchased elsewhere warranty from American Custom Security is void. Issues with third party products will be charged at the full service fee rate. This does not include additional charges such as parts, labor, and shipping. If third party product is still unable to be repaired, charges are still applied.
10. Payment.
We only except check and cash. No credit. Customer must pay full balance by the completion date or late fee of $35.00 a day will be added to the balance for each day the balance is left unpaid. If balance is left unpaid after 30 days and customer has not made an attempt to pay, the bill will be sent to a collection agency. It is the company or persons name that appears under “BILL TO” that is responsible for the complete payment. If balance is not paid in full including late fees, legal action will follow.
11. Our Safety.
All employees of American Custom Security have the right to turn down an installation if the installers’ safety is at risk. Which may include bad weather such as temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit or above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, rain, snow, ice, hail, wind, unsafe structural conditions, etc. We have the right to turn down or delay any job for any reason.
12. Deposits.
For projects over $10,000.00, 50% deposits of total balances are due before all jobs to pay for material. Jobs will be started once customer has paid the 50% deposit. 25% of the balance is due during the job. The remaining 25% is due the day project is completed. For projects under $10,000.00, 50% deposit of total balance is due before project starts. 50% is due the day project is completed. All extra work must be paid at date of completion. Once all of the balance is paid, passwords and education of equipment will be given to customer. All deposits are non-refundable.
13. Scheduling & Project Delays.
Project scheduling must be written on contract. American Custom Security is not responsible for project delays due to weather, or an act of God. For every week a project has been delayed pasted the written schedule dates not due to weather or an act of God, a $500 fee will be added to each week the project has been delayed. Reasons causing delays that induce a $500 fine a week include but are not limited to delays due to drywall, insulation, electric, or any other construction issues. We have a tight schedule and must not delay other customers. Customer must notify us 2 weeks in advance to not be charged a $500 fee and is allowed to reschedule project up to 2 weeks later than written on the contract. Only 1 phase is allowed to be delayed for no charge. If more than 1 phase is delayed, the $500 fee will be charged to each week that phase of the project is delayed. Delays caused by customers due to lack of funds will result in penalties. Customer has 30 days from the date written on the contract to pay remaining balance if project has been halted for any reason. A late fee of 1.5% will be added to every month the balance has not been paid. If balance is left unpaid for 12 months or more, legal actions will take place. Once the balance is paid in full including penalties, job will continue and will be completed.
14. Returns & Cancellations.
There are no returns allowed. We allow exchanges and upgrades but no downgrades. Deposits are all non-refundable. Cancellations will result in loss of deposit and remaining balance must be paid of within 30 days of contract signing. After initial 30 days, a penalty of 1.5% of the total balance will be added ever month until balance is paid. If balance is left unpaid for 12 months or more, legal actions will take place.
